Climate change: time to act now
Posted on 7 August 2016
Breaking news shocked the public last week: after more than 3 years of studying, the UN’s climate panel have released a landmark report which provides details on physical evidence behind climate change.
The report concludes that the scientists are 95% certain that humans are the ‘dominant cause’ of global warming since the preindustrial era.
The scientists have warned that if nothing is done to discontinue the trend, the emission of greenhouse gases will further affect all aspects of climate change. Both scientists and environmentalists urge governments to take action now.
As the health of our planet is affected by our individual actions as well, it is about time to take some simple steps to help the environment now.
• Consider alternative energy sources: did you know that by installing solar panels not only does it reduce your carbon footprint but you can actually save and earn money as well?
• An air source heat pump are another great alternative although they have some impact on the environment as they need electricity to run, the heat they extract from the ground, air, or water is constantly being renewed naturally. Besides, the energy they are able to generate greatly exceeds the electricity consumed.
